Holiday parks offer all a traveller needs for a reasonable price. Often they are located in beautiful countryside, near the ocean or national parks. They have space for tents, caravans and campervans. Many of them also offer rooms, motel units or backpacker lodges. If you arrive with a tent or campervan, you will share the kitchen and bathrooms with other travellers. The grounds often provide a dining room as well as a TV lounge.

Motels

Often they are also equipped with a swimming pool, spa, sauna, TV room, laundry, room service, breakfast and a restaurant.

Bed & Breakfast

New Zealanders are famous for their hospitality. A stay in a Bed & Breakfast is the perfect opportunity to experience this first hand. Bed & Breakfasts allow you to feel good in a familiar atmosphere and to meet real Kiwis. The owners of B’n’Bs often like listening to travel stories and are a very interested audience.

Holiday-Apartments

Apartments give travellers comfort and flexibility for short or long stays. Apartments are fully equipped units with kitchen appliances and laundry facilities as well as separate living and sleeping areas. This way you have your own real home where you can feel good and immerse into New Zealand life.

Hotels

If you appreciate more comfort, New Zealand hotels will be the right place for you. You will find many well-known hotel chains in New Zealand but also family owned New Zealand hotels. The prices for a stay in a hotel are quite different and range from cheap to expensive. New Zealand hotels offer a higher quality standard, many of them have a swimming pool, an in-house bar and a restaurant or fitness area.

Lodges / Resorts

New Zealand lodges and resorts are exclusive places for a retreat. They are located in the most beautiful and idyllic spots in New Zealand by mountains, forests or the ocean. New Zealand lodges and resorts are the perfect place to switch off and relax. They have restaurants and many have leisure facilities, tennis courts, golf courses and swimming pools. Often New Zealand lodges and resorts are near major attractions such as ski resorts, popular tourist areas or scenic attractions such as glaciers and lakes.

Camping

If you would like to stay in a tent, New Zealand offers private campgrounds and DOC campsites. Many privately owned campgrounds include a shared kitchen, common room with TV, showers, washing machines and dryers. The facilities of DOC (Department of Conservation), New Zealand’s environmental organisation, are not as comfortable but these campsites are much cheaper and situated in beautiful locations.
